The annual salary range for a GS-11 is $75,278 to $97,867. The annual salary range for a GS-12 is $89,508 to $116,362. If you are a new federal employee, the starting salary will be at Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
Assessment and Basic CompetenciesThis announcement has a USAHIRE Assessment that must be completed. To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate possession of each of the following basic competencies and at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑09 or GS‑11 grade level in Federal Service.

- Customer Service – Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
- Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to non‑verbal cues, and responds appropriately.
- Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
To be qualified at the GS‑11 grade level in federal service, you must meet at least one of the following conditions:

Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑9 grade level in federal service providing IT customer service and support in troubleshooting, recovering, and resolving recurring software/hardware problems; providing technical support services to coordinate teleconferences and distance learning activities; performing ongoing network monitoring and management; distributing and installing new or upgraded software to ensure customers receive current versions of supported software;
designing, developing, testing, implementing, and managing internet and intranet websites; creating basic scripts or code using general knowledge of programming languages and tools; and participating in the testing and implementation of an organization’s information security program.
Education: A PH D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree and this education must be either in one of the following fields or have a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the following fields and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks: computer science, computer engineering, information science/technology, information systems management, cybersecurity/information security.
GS‑12Qualifications
To be qualified at the GS‑12 grade level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑11 grade level in Federal Service maintaining network architecture and infrastructure; configuring and maintaining servers, hubs, routers, and switches; monitoring network capacity and performance; analyzing network traffic patterns and installing network software fixes, upgrades, and enhancements; resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems;
designing, developing, testing, implementing, and managing internet and intranet websites; implementing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data; implementing programs to ensure users are aware of, understand, and adhere to systems security policies and procedures; and assessing and providing feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements and providing recommendations to resolve cited problems.
