The Systems Strategist supports the planning, security, and ongoing improvement of networks and audiovisual systems serving Oklahoma Baptists and its ministries. This position stays informed on emerging technologies and cybersecurity best practices, working closely with the IT team and outside vendors to identify and implement effective solutions. The Systems Strategist supports and maintains in-house computer systems and equipment, provides technical guidance to churches, and assists with live event production to ensure dependable and secure technology operations.
The position supports all other IT functions performed by the IT team.

- Oversee technical systems for Oklahoma Baptists, while making sure they are operational, updated, and optimized for max performance. This includes working with the CIO on the validity and status of each system to best serve Oklahoma Baptists and its ministries.
- Ensure the ongoing security and integrity of AV and IT systems through regular review and proactive maintenance.
- Assist Oklahoma Baptist churches with audio/video inquiries, training, and equipment recommendations.
- Help with live event production, coordination, and operation.
- Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
- Coordinate with third-party service providers and vendors when necessary.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (SharePoint, Excel, etc.) and Adobe products.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong quality-control awareness.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

- Ability to manage workflow and meet deadlines.
- Must possess exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to connect, configure, and secure networks of any size.
- Understand networking basics and configure wired/wireless networks.
- Basic knowledge of enterprise technologies like network, storage, identity management, cloud services, etc.
- Design and implement network configurations with minimal supervision.
- Understands security operations from a people, process and technology perspective.
- Understands routine Cyber Security monitoring and administration tools.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve common software, hardware, and connectivity issues.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field; certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.) a plus.
Minimum:
Associate degree in IT, computer science, or related field.
3+ years of IT networking, cybersecurity, or related experience.
