What is the position?
The Application Developer will support and enhance a statewide People Soft Financials environment, assisting with system implementations, upgrades, maintenance, and production support initiatives. This role works closely with business and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery, troubleshoot system issues, and maintain compliance with established accounting processes and standards.
Responsibilities- Support implementation projects, system enhancements, upgrades, and ongoing production activities within a People Soft Financials environment.
- Collaborate with analysts, integrators, technical teams, and stakeholders to provide functional and technical solutions.
- Convert business needs into detailed technical specifications and system configurations.
- Develop and maintain workflow processes, particularly within Accounts Payable and Travel & Expense functions.
- Create and update training materials, standard operating procedures, user guides, and supporting documentation.
- Design and execute test plans, test scripts, and validation activities for upgrades, patches, and system enhancements.
- Provide project status updates, risk assessments, and recommendations to leadership teams.
- Assist with troubleshooting, issue resolution, and continuous improvement efforts across financial modules.
- Experience supporting People Soft Financials 9.2 and current PUM environments.
- Strong knowledge of financial modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Asset Management, Grants, Contracts, Project Costing, Treasury, Commitment Control, and Travel & Expense.
- Proficiency with People Tools technologies including People Code, Application Engine, Component Interfaces, SQR, BI Publisher, and SQL Developer.
- Ability to gather requirements and translate business processes into effective technical solutions.
- Experience creating testing documentation, training materials, workflow designs, and configuration documents.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to identify project risks, evaluate impacts, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Government or public sector experience preferred, particularly supporting statewide financial systems.
- You can be counted on in crucial times possessing great focus while completing projects successfully and efficiently.
