Job Description Summary
GE Aerospace is developing next-generation software to modernize airspace and instrument flight procedure design through AI-enabled workflow automation. This role will lead product definition and development for an agentic airspace design solution focused on end-to-end flight path design, review, and maintenance. The Product Manager will translate domain expertise, customer needs, and workflow pain points into a scalable, human-in-the-loop software offering that improves safety, efficiency, throughput, consistency, and lifecycle performance.
Working across flight path design engineers, software developers, AI specialists, avionics and Flight Management System stakeholders, and customer-facing teams, this role will define the product roadmap and help deliver high-value automation with traceability, verification, and regulatory confidence. This is a highly cross‑functional role requiring strong product judgment, technical fluency, customer focus, and the ability to operate effectively in a first-of-its-kind environment spanning aviation operations, software, AI, and regulated workflow transformation.
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
The Product Manager – Agentic Airspace Design will own product strategy, roadmap definition, and cross‑functional execution for the development of an AI‑enabled software solution supporting end‑to‑end flight path design workflows.
- Lead product strategy and roadmap development for an agentic airspace design software solution focused on instrument flight path procedure development, review, and maintenance, with extension potential into broader airspace design workflows.
- Translate current‑state flight path design workflows into a future‑state product vision by identifying bottlenecks, handoffs, rework loops, data dependencies, and the highest‑value opportunities for automation.
- Define and prioritize product requirements for critical workflow capabilities such as data intake and validation, terrain and obstacle analysis, criteria checking, documentation generation, evidence packaging, and lifecycle maintenance support.
- Partner with flight path design experts, software engineers, AI specialists, avionics stakeholders, customers, and internal teams to develop and validate prototypes, refine product direction, and demonstrate value based on operational feedback.
- Own product backlog development, feature sequencing, and trade‑off decisions across technical, regulatory, operational, and commercial considerations while coordinating delivery across product, engineering, design, domain experts, and program leadership.
- Build the product business case and support development of reusable workflows, qualification templates, and scalable software building blocks that can extend across airports, procedure types, and future customers.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 5 additional years of software product management experience or similar related experience in the aviation industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of aviation industry experience with a proven track record.
- Experience leading software products or technical workflow solutions across multiple stakeholders, requirements, and delivery dependencies, and translating complex expert‑driven workflows into scalable product requirements, roadmaps, and delivery plans.
- Strong ability to work cross‑functionally with software engineers, technical experts, design teams, and business stakeholders in regulated, safety‑critical, or compliance‑driven environments where traceability, validation, and human oversight are essential.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical experts, operational users, customer stakeholders, and business leadership, and willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Experience in aviation domains such as flight path design, instrument flight procedures, avionics, air traffic management, or airspace navigation authority environments.
