Eligibility
Current Department of War (DoW) federal employees only. Must submit most recent SF-50 for verification. Open to U.S. citizens of legal working age.
Responsibilities- Exercise 1st level supervisory and position management responsibilities over subordinate employees within the Software Development Branch.
- Direct work activities and maintain up-to-date knowledge to guide staff in providing advice, accountability, and expertise.
- Lead IT business modernization efforts across the center.
- Responsible for IT development, technology direction, insertion, and configuration management.
- Provide a range of IT tools and solutions; develop, deploy and enhance business solutions using portal and web technology supporting real-time and stored information.
- Assess IT applications to meet business needs, develop and implement data management and application testing strategies.
- Define and maintain software development standards and environments.
- Implement customer requirements in line with IT architecture and standards.
- Serve as interface between the System Program Office and the Functional Business Area; act as system SME for site‑unique applications ensuring operational integrity.
- Perform Database Administration tasks, including installation/configuration, architecture design, performance tuning, monitoring, backups, and security patch maintenance.
- Designated drug‑testing position.
- Obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- May be required to travel for temporary duty.
- Mastery of software and data analysis concepts, IT application principles, design methods, and practices.
- Knowledge of personnel management, EEO, safety, and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct functions and mentor staff.
- Experience in evaluating and improving processes and procedures to monitor effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity.
- Extensive knowledge of operating system theories, IT disciplines, and operating environment interrelationships.
- Advanced knowledge of database management systems, operating systems, technical architecture, and network topology for diagnosing complex database issues.
- Broad knowledge of IT processing standards, policies, and acquisition procedures to advise program managers.
- Proficiency in IT security principles and methods to recognize violations.
- Capability to manage multiple concurrent project assignments, document technical methods, and lead design teams to develop products meeting customer needs.
Salary Range: $89,508 – $138,370 yearly with locality. Job Open Date: 6/15/2026. Job Close Date: 6/26/2026.
