Configuration Management Specialist
The National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC) Division of the Leidos Fed Civ IT Business Area currently has an opening for a Configuration Management Specialist. This position will be part of a dynamic team working to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Oklahoma City at their Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center location.
Configuration Management Specialist:
The Contractor shall provide configuration management (CM) support to AJW-142 Long Range Radar System Support to maintain the integrity, traceability, and controlled management of system configurations, documentation, changes, and releases throughout the system lifecycle. Configuration management activities may include:
- Establish configuration management strategies and execution for AJW-142.
- Once the strategies and procedures are established, then maintain and execute configuration management processes and procedures consistent with program and stakeholder requirements.
- Establish configuration identification and control of applicable system components, documentation, requirements, and other configuration items.
- Establish and maintain configuration baselines and ensure changes to approved baselines are appropriately documented, reviewed, authorized, and traceable.
- Coordinate and track change requests and other proposed configuration changes through applicable review, approval, implementation, and closure processes.
- Lead and govern configuration management across hardware and software life cycles for AJW-142 programs. Establish CM strategy, change governance, product life cycle management (PLM)/data governance, audit readiness, and cross-functional traceability. Mentor junior staff, influence leadership, ensure compliance with standards, and resolve multi-program configuration risks from concept through sustainment.
- Maintain configuration status accounting and provide visibility into the status of configuration items, changes, baselines, and releases.
- Establish and support requirements management and traceability by coordinating approved requirements changes and ensuring associated configuration documentation is maintained.
- Support release and deployment planning, including release readiness activities, configuration verification, required documentation, and coordination of approved changes.
- Participate in configuration control boards, change review meetings, release readiness reviews, and other applicable technical or programmatic reviews.
- Perform or support configuration verification and audits to ensure system configurations and associated documentation accurately reflect approved and implemented changes.
- Establish and maintain configuration management records, repositories, release documentation, and other artifacts necessary to support program traceability, reporting, and customer decision-making.
- Maintain configuration status accounting and provide visibility into the status of configuration items, changes, baselines, and releases.
- Coordinate with program management, development, testing, operations, security, and customer stakeholders to ensure configuration-controlled changes are communicated and implemented consistently.
- Support post-deployment activities by validating implemented configurations, documenting configuration changes, and assisting with the identification and resolution of configuration-related discrepancies.
- Mentor/Train project/team leaders and technical staff regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.
- Impacts functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards or operational plans.
- Resolves highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in industrial engineering or a related technical field and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or master's with 10+ years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. Additional years of experience or education may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Advanced knowledge with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) practices across hardware, software, and systems.
- Advanced knowledge of configuration management principles and data governances.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance (Secret).
