Summary
  • Engineering Specialist II responsible for hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, and engineering-related services.
  • Supports engineering systems, workstations, storage devices, and technical equipment.
  • Diagnoses and resolves hardware, software, operating system, connectivity, storage, and file system issues.
  • Works in a fast-paced environment supporting engineering and business operations.
  • Requires strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, communication, customer service, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on technical support for engineering systems, workstations, storage devices, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, connectivity, storage, and file system issues.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and support Windows, Mac OS, and Linux systems.
  • Perform system imaging, software deployments, upgrades, and patch management.
  • Troubleshoot file systems, storage configurations, and RAID environments.
  • Document technical issues, troubleshooting steps, solutions, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and resolve technical challenges.
  • Follow established processes and procedures while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Provide technical assistance and customer service to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain equipment inventory and ensure proper handling of technical assets.
  • Support engineering labs, testing environments, and technical operations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics and system performance analysis.
  • Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides and technical documentation.
  • Follow all safety, security, and compliance requirements.
Required Skills
  • Associate degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on technical experience in IT, engineering, or a related technical environment.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic abilities.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Basic understanding of file systems:
    • FAT
    • NTFS
    • HFS+
    • APFS
    • EXT
  • Basic understanding of RAID technologies, including RAID 0 and RAID 1.
  • Familiarity with storage systems and data management concepts.
  • Knowledge of hardware diagnostics and system performance analysis.
  • Experience documenting technical procedures and troubleshooting guides.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good adaptability and time-management skills.
  • Strong initiative and accountability.
  • Customer-focused approach.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CISSP, Microsoft 365, CEH, CHFI, or AWS are preferred.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods while working at a computer workstation.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and handle technical equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
