IT Support Coordinator

Full/Part-Time Full time

Compensation $60,000 annually

Basic Purpose Performs professional-level administrative and program coordination work as part of the IT Support team within the Technology Services Division. The position provides operational oversight, direction, planning, and prioritization of end-user technology support activities to promote timely, consistent, and effective service delivery.

Typical Functions
  • Coordinates and directs daily work priorities for technical support personnel.
  • Plans and prioritizes workload based on service requests, projects, deployments, and operational needs.
  • Coordinates the imaging, configuration, deployment, maintenance, and replacement of end-user computing equipment.
  • Oversees direct technical support and help desk functions, including issue escalation and resolution.
  • Coordinates after-hours support as needed, tracks assignments and service issues, and maintains procedures and documentation related to IT support operations.
Level Descriptor

Levels are distinguished based on the complexity of assigned duties, the level of expertise required for completion of work assignments, and the responsibility assigned for the supervision of others. At this level employees are assigned responsibilities involving the direction or management of a major program, division, unit or function which is of moderate size and scope or perform professional level work involving program supervision, development, coordination, or implementation with responsibility for a major phase of a program which is large in size and scope.

Responsibilities may include serving as an operating program manager assigned administrative, staff, or program responsibilities, performing functions in the areas of program management and development, providing guidance for operations and services, performing program planning, development and evaluation activities, and organizing and coordinating program services and activities. Incumbents will be expected to perform assigned duties at all levels of complexity and will provide guidance, supervision and training to assigned staff.

Education and Experience

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional experience in business or public administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of technical administrative
* experience for each year of the required bachelor's degree. One year of technical administrative
* experience may also be substituted for one year only of the required experience.
* Technical administrative experience would include highly complex clerical work gained under the direct supervision of a professional supervisor or manager.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies

Knowledge of IT support operations, organizational practices, and administrative processes. Ability to plan and prioritize work, coordinate technical support activities, analyze issues, exercise sound judgment, communicate effectively, maintain accurate documentation, and establish effective working relationships with technical staff, agency personnel, vendors, and service providers.

Special Requirements
  • Must be willing and able to travel within the state as needed to support agency operations. Occasional travel may also be required for training, conferences, or other job-related activities.
  • Must be available for occasional after-hours support as operational needs require.
