The Bilingual Family Resources Assistant supports family engagement and access to community resources for students and families connected to Mark Twain Elementary School. This position serves as a bilingual liaison among families, school staff, Sunbeam team members, and community partners. Responsibilities include providing Spanish/English communication support, assisting with outreach and family engagement activities, connecting families to resources, and maintaining welcoming spaces where parents and caregivers can access information and support.

Minimally Required Preferred Education :
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
Experience communicating effectively with families and children in Spanish and English languages
Skills Knowledge Abilities :
Fluent Bilingual Spanish/English conversational ability to interact accurately and effectively with children and families from multilingual homes
Ability to accurately interpret and translate information between English and Spanish, both verbal and written.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Caring and compassionate attitude when interacting with and caring for children and families
Able to exercise good judgment and handle stress appropriately
Willingness to work with high-risk, low-income communities
Accepting interpersonal approach that reflects cultural sensitivity to the unique and diverse experiences of families served
Able to effectively and respectfully communication and support diverse families, professionals and community groups
Intermediate knowledge of computer operations and applications and the ability to master other computer technology/software programs, as needed
Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Valid Oklahoma driver's license and state required vehicle insurance for any vehicle used in performance of job duties
Local travel required plus work some evenings and weekends, as required by the job

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently communicate with staff and others, and must be able to exchange accurate information in both English and Spanish. The employee may remain stationary for extended periods, operate office equipment, attend meetings, and move throughout offices, schools, community spaces, and event locations.
Work Environment The employee works primarily within Mark Twain Elementary School and related community engagement environments. Noise levels may range from moderate to loud depending on activities and location. The employee may work in close proximity to school-aged children and families and may occasionally be exposed to illnesses and other conditions commonly present in educational settings.
