About the Role: The Senior Buyer works in a collaborative, fast paced environment where they will be responsible for providing ultimate customer satisfaction of finished goods supply while achieving inventory levels and turns directives of the company. The Senior Buyer supports cross functional teams for rollouts, launches and other customer facing initiatives. The person in this position must possess solid decision‑making skills, as well as an organizational aptitude for efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Manage purchase orders and ensure sufficient inventory is available to meet customer demand while maintaining target service levels and inventory turns
- Proactively identify and mitigate supply risks, implementing corrective actions and communicating impacts when shortages occur
- Execute and validate MRP outputs, ensuring accurate decision‑making based on demand, supply, and planning parameters
- Maintain and improve data integrity within the MRP system, including lead times, safety stock, and order policies
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, holding suppliers accountable for on‑time delivery and performance
- Monitor supplier performance (OTIF) and drive issue resolution, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Partner with Sourcing on supplier performance, negotiations, and issue resolution
- Work closely with Logistics to monitor transit times and mitigate delivery risks
- Collaborate with Distribution Centers to ensure timely receipt of POs and transfers, resolving exceptions and compliance issues
- Support cross‑functional teams on product launches, rollouts, and customer‑facing initiatives
- Monitor key metrics including service levels, backorders, and inventory performance
- Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, supplier execution, and inventory positioning
- Bachelor’s degree (B.
A.) from a four‑year college or university in a business‑related area plus 2+ years of Buyer experience - In lieu of a degree, 5 to 8 years of purchasing experience or related experience and/or training
- Proficiency in ERP systems/theories
- Proficiency in MS Office, Word and Power Point
