Job Description

IAA Holdings, LLC (IAA), a Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers company, is seeking a Yard Attendant to join our team. The role requires working outdoors, focusing on safety, and supporting auction operations.

Responsibilities
  • Vehicle check‑in by recording and filing information on vehicles assigned to the facility
  • Detail vehicles to improve appearance and enhance value at auction (training provided)
  • Operate passenger vehicles safely, moving them around the facility and/or participating in drive‑through auctions
  • Recover keys, license plates, and other items and store them in the appropriate locations at the branch
  • Assist visitors by providing guidance and directing them to appropriate assistance
  • Train and develop on the job in forklift and loader operation
Qualifications
  • All candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent). Physical demands exist; this is not a desk job.
  • Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible to operate a motor vehicle for job duties.
  • An upbeat demeanor to ensure every customer interaction is positive is a must. Knowledge of cars or general mechanical knowledge is beneficial. Teamwork is essential.
  • While it is not required, it would be great if you have:
    • Basic automotive repair skills or experience in the rental or construction area.
    • Experience in the equipment rental or construction industry and/or related field is preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Apply appropriate security, maintenance, and safety procedures to protect company and customer assets.
  • Use personal protective equipment such as safety gloves and safety glasses.
  • Recognize potentially unsafe situations and respond appropriately to avoid accidents.
  • Follow industry‑specific regulations related to hazardous material handling.
  • Constantly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 lbs.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull over 100 lbs.
  • Constantly reach outward, handle and finger objects, stand, walk, and sit.
  • Frequently bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, climb, and crawl.
  • Work primarily outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Remain alert to hazards associated with heavy equipment and other vehicles.
