Kraft Tank Corporation is seeking a Parts Back Counter Specialist to serve as the primary parts resource for our Service Department. In this role, you'll work behind the scenes to ensure technicians have the right parts at the right time, helping minimize downtime and keep repairs moving efficiently.

As a Parts Back Counter Specialist, you will work closely with Service Advisors, Service Technicians, Vendors, and the Parts Department to source, order, stage, and manage parts for repair orders while providing exceptional internal customer service. What You’ll do:
  • Keep the Shop Moving:
    • Serve as the primary parts contact for Service Technicians.
    • Quickly identify and supply the correct parts for repair orders.
    • Pull stocked parts efficiently to minimize technician downtime.
    • Stage parts by repair order to keep work flowing through the shop.
  • Source Parts Efficiently:
    • Research and source non-stock parts through approved vendors.
    • Obtain pricing and availability from multiple suppliers.
    • Place purchase orders for special-order parts.
    • Monitor outstanding parts orders until received.
    • Communicate part delays or backorders immediately.
    • Assist Service Advisors in building complete and accurate parts estimates.
    • Review technician recommendations to ensure all required parts are included.
    • Verify correct pricing, quantities, and part numbers before estimates are finalized.
    • Recommend related components, replacement parts, or repair kits when appropriate.
  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Service:
    • Maintain consistent communication with Service Advisors, Technicians, Vendors, and the Parts Department.
    • Provide timely updates on part availability and estimated arrival dates (ETA).
    • Resolve parts issues quickly to prevent repair delays.
    • Build positive vendor relationships to improve sourcing and delivery performance.
    • Ensure repair orders contain accurate parts information.
    • Coordinate warranty and return parts as needed.
    • Maintain organized inventory and work areas.
    • Support continuous improvement in shop efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience in heavy-duty truck, trailer, or automotive parts preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of trailer components, heavy‑duty truck parts, or mechanical systems is a plus.
  • Experience using inventory management systems, ERP software, or Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, can‑do attitude, anticipate challenges and rise to meet them.
  • Ability to research parts, read parts diagrams, and identify correct replacement components.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand, walk, reach, climb, or crouch.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal skills with customers, management, and team members.
