SUMMARYProvides support to materials department staff to ensure that product is stored, shipped and tracked in accordance with customer specifications and QS9000/MMOG standards, while maintaining production flow and following company procedures. Maintains company and customer materials records, documentation and other related technical data by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develops and implements inventory control systems and procedures.
- Compiles, sorts, and verifies accuracy of inventory.
- Coordinate and manage daily physical inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory process.
- Analyze and research discrepancies between customer inventory system, ATC inventory system and on hand inventory.
- Act as a liaison between departments and buyers and determine obsolete stock while optimizing inventory turnover.
- Analyze inventory levels and trends and recommend stocking levels for optimum operation.
- Develops analysis and implementation of continuous improvement in materials and product systems, storage, handling, and tracking.
- Aids in the development of departmental procedures and instructions.
- Conducts, or assists in evaluation to resolve materials problems relating to facilities, materials storage, handling, tracking, systems, equipment, and process.
- Participates in the review of customer or contractual documentation to identify and ensure fulfillment of requirements.
- Conducts cost reduction and process improvement evaluations (i.e. handling time, movements between locations, misidentification of core and components).
- Research, implement and report on inventory cost reduction plans.
- Assist with timekeeping and payroll for warehouse.
- Responsible for maintain a quality work environment, including good housekeeping (i.e. 5S).
- Assist in plant wide training of personnel to include organizational ethics, safety standards, work flow processes and practices that relate to the handling of inventory.
- Provide technical support to employee involvement teams.
- Coordinate inventory-related processes, production metrics and continuous improvements with benchmarks.
- Support business development, purchasing and warehousing with ad hoc inventory analysis.
- Assist in preparing documentation useful for formulating marketing and procurement policies and strategies to improve inventory turnover.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree (B.
A.) from four-year College or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to use Materials Info-flo system and other computer software to enter data, analyze, create reports, graphs, and spreadsheets.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must be able to read and understand English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSCertifications in APICS desirable.
