Position OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced
** Supply Chain Manager with a strong background supporting government contracts
** to oversee complex supply chain, logistics, inventory, and procurement operations. This individual will manage supply chain activities supporting multiple programs, ensure contractual and regulatory compliance, and partner closely with internal program teams, government customers, vendors, and logistics providers.
The ideal candidate will bring
** 7–10+ years of government contracting, military, or defense-related supply chain and logistics experience**, along with proven leadership of complex inventory and logistics programs.
- Manage complex supply chain, logistics, procurement, and inventory requirements supporting government contracts and programs.
- Oversee inventory, government-furnished property (GFP), spare parts, supplies, and related program resources.
- Manage daily logistics and secure storage operations, ensuring materials and assets are properly tracked, maintained, and accounted for.
- Partner with program and project leadership to procure and maintain materials and equipment necessary to meet contractual requirements and program objectives.
- Develop and implement supply chain risk management strategies to identify and mitigate potential disruptions.
- Establish logistics goals, milestones, processes, and performance expectations in support of assigned programs.
- Provide leadership and direction to supply chain, inventory, and logistics personnel and oversee daily activities as needed.
- Develop and maintain procedures to ensure consistent, compliant, and efficient supply chain and logistics operations.
- Ensure government-furnished property and other program assets are properly managed and maintained in accordance with applicable government requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop strategies to increase efficiency, accuracy, and cost effectiveness.
- Ensure supply chain activities, timelines, and processes comply with contractual requirements, company policies, and applicable government regulations.
- Provide pricing, cost, and procurement support for proposals and oversee requisition activities during program execution.
- Coordinate with shipping, receiving, logistics, security, export control, vendors, and customers regarding contractual supply chain requirements.
- Prepare and present reports to senior leadership regarding inventory, GFP, spare parts, logistics, procurement, and overall supply chain performance.
- Develop and manage operating budgets for assigned supply chain and logistics programs.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with government customers, program leadership, vendors, and executive-level stakeholders.
- Utilize supply chain, inventory management, and enterprise software systems to maintain accurate records and support program requirements.
- Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, to improve supply chain efficiency.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- ** 7–10+ years of professional experience in government contracting, defense, military, or government-focused supply chain and logistics.**
- ** Previous experience directly supporting government contracts is required.**
- Strong understanding of supply chain, logistics, procurement, inventory management, and contractual requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing medium to large-scale inventory systems.
- Experience managing government-furnished property, spare parts, equipment, or other controlled program assets.
- Proven leadership experience managing supply chain, logistics, inventory, or procurement teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to build and interpret complex spreadsheets and work within supply chain/inventory management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with government customers, internal leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
