Overview
We are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee compression operations in the Pecos area of the Permian Basin. This role is responsible for managing field service technicians, ensuring fleet reliability, supporting customer relationships, and driving safe, efficient field operations. The position requires a hands‑on leader who spends significant time in the field supporting technicians and maintaining strong operational performance.
Responsibilities- Lead day‑to‑day compression operations including deployment of equipment, personnel, and materials to maximize efficiency and control costs.
- Manage compression technicians, preventative and major maintenance schedules, and service calls to ensure high equipment uptime and timely completion of reporting and documentation.
- Spend 25–50% of time in the field performing PM audits, inspecting units, mentoring technicians, and monitoring operational performance.
- Serve as the primary customer contact for the service area and maintain strong relationships through regular communication and site visits.
- Monitor fleet performance including downtime events, unit moves, scheduled and unscheduled major maintenance, PM completion, and operational reporting while identifying corrective actions for underperforming units.
- Enforce safety standards, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with company HSE policies and training requirements.
- 8–10 years of compression or field service experience
, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role
. - Strong knowledge of natural gas compression equipment, field maintenance operations, and fleet performance management
. - Proven ability to lead and mentor compression technicians while maintaining high safety and service standards.
- Experience managing customer relationships in upstream or midstream operations.
- Familiarity with operational systems and tools such as Microsoft Office and fleet management platforms
. - High school diploma or GED required; technical or associate degree preferred.
