Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a NJ‑04 Engineer Technician of the Spares Support and Screening Section. To accomplish technical support to the Department of Defense, Defense Logistics Agency acquisition. 448th Supply Chain Management Wing, Logistics communities through Acquisition Method Code/Acquisition Methods Suffix Code assignment for all OC‑ALC prime aircraft, accessories, propulsion and Electronics weapon systems and to provide technical support to OC‑ALC Engineering Data Management Specialist.
Responsibilities- Duty #1:
Responsible for providing technical support, generally in the field of aircraft structural, aerospace accessories and propulsion systems and programs, to the Department of Defense and Defense Logistics Agency acquisition and logistics communities, such as buyers, contracting officers, program managers, item managers, etc. including the support of the Spare Parts Breakout Program as defined and implemented in the Department of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), PG Spare Parts Breakout Program AFI 23‑105, and the Competition in Contracting Act (C1CA) of 1984. - Duty #2:
Actively pursues the resolution of impediments to full and open competition in the replenishment of spares found during the AMC/AMSC screening process due to deficiencies in the engineering data package. - Duty #3:
Advises management, engineers, contractors and other acquisition/logistics personnel concerning policy, procedures or interpretation of acquisition regulations and government/industry specifications and standards related to the screening process. - Duty #4:
Reviews pricing history of selected items to determine appropriate pricing for future acquisitions in support of the Cost Analysis and Zero Overpricing Programs.
Position Requirements
- Knowledge of engineering data acquisition and management, the Competition in Contracting Act of 1984 (CICA), DoD Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) PG (DoD Spare Parts Breakout Program), AFI 23‑105, AFMCI 21‑113, Air Force processes and systems and the nature of the commodities assigned.
- Knowledge of standard safety and health practices and established policies and procedures.
