As a Single Facer Operator, you’ll be part of our corrugator team, responsible for running the single‑facer and assisting in wet‑end and dry‑end operations. This is a hands‑on role for someone who’s dependable, detail‑oriented, and ready to grow in a fast‑paced production environment.
Shift: 2nd Shift (4:00 PM – 2:00 AM) — Must be available for overtime and occasional weekend work as needed
Starting Pay: $20.69/hour – Eligible for pay increases at 90 days and 6 months based on performance and attendance.
What You’ll Do- Operate the single‑facers to produce the highest level of production and quality.
- Check wet end line‑ups to verify correct roll stock is received and used.
- Put rolls of paper in mill roll stands ensuring proper size and grade of paper to be run and make splices and paper changes as necessary.
- Trim only the necessary amount of paper from the rolls when preparing for splices.
- Remove roll stock from the machine when necessary and mark the proper size, grade, diameter, and lineal footage on the roll and place core plugs in each end of the butt rolls.
- Continuously monitor the board during runs to ensure quality and make adjustment as necessary
- Clean starch pan, glue roll and single‑facer area after changing glues and at the end of the production week.
- Take all paper off cores of stub rolls.
- Help train others and cross‑train on other corrugator roles
- Submit maintenance requests and support equipment upkeep
- Learn to read corrugator lineups and support other roles (Slitter Operator, Double backer)
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Dependable and show up ready to work every day
- Team player who follows instructions and supports others
- Comfortable staying active and working around machines
- Can read and understand safety instructions and production documents written in English
- Can use a tape measure accurately and consistently
- Confident using basic math for counts, measurements, and simple calculations
- Detail‑oriented and cares about doing things the right way
- Eager to learn, grow, and contribute to the team’s success
- On your feet for most of the shift – standing, walking, bending, kneeling, moving up to 40 lbs
- Work near moving mechanical parts in an environment with noise, vibration, and airborne particles
- Facility not climate‑controlled; can be very hot in summer and cold in winter
