Performs a variety of processes, including disassembly, de-energizing, cleaning, reassembly, and re-energization of batteries and battery packaging. Technicians inspect and test electrical connections, components, and wiring charges. Additionally, they inspect batteries for defective parts, test fluid conditions, remove battery fluids, and disconnect electrical leads to ensure optimal battery performance.
Primary Duties/Key Responsibilities- Learns battery maintenance principles and practices
- Assists with disassembling batteries and packs using hand tools
- Uses test equipment to assess battery performance and detect issues
- Replaces faulty components and fusing parts to restore functionality
- Ensures proper mixing and containment of battery fluids
- Sorts battery-related materials, Package and prepare battery components for shipping
- Performs basic diagnostics to identify battery failures
- Use electrical test equipment to verify battery functionality
- Supports repair and refurbishment of vehicle batteries for reuse
- Follows company quality management procedures
- Adheres to safety protocols and wears required PPE
- Ensure battery work meets quality standards and contributes to overall operational excellence
- Ensure timely and accurate updates to the Alfred CMMS database with relevant maintenance and production data to support operational efficiency and equipment reliability.
- Completes additional tasks as assigned
- High School Diploma/GED, and up to 2 years' experience in a related field
- Requires a strong knowledge and experience working with hand and power tools as well as basic computers skills needed to enter information into databases, and check and respond to emails.
- Ability to read written operating instructions
- Excellent skills in quality, accuracy and attention to Detail, safety focus, can collaborate to work effectively with teams throughout the organization.

- Degree or certification in related disciplines automotive or technical
- Experience in the EV Battery or automotive industry
Hourly base pay rate is $18.17 - $27.31/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
BenefitsEmployees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
