CNC Machinist

This role focuses on setting up and operating CNC machines to manufacture precision components for oil and gas, aerospace, and general industrial applications. You use CNC mills and lathes to produce high-quality parts from blueprints, ensuring accuracy and reliability in a fully climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Perform CNC machine setups, including tooling selection, fixture installation, and workpiece alignment.
  • Use programming languages and G-code to create, edit, and adjust CNC programs for efficient and accurate machining.
  • Operate and monitor machines such as Fanuc and Haas-controlled equipment to ensure consistent production quality.
  • Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments to programs, tooling, and setups to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Work on components used to perforate oil and gas wells and other industrial applications, ensuring durability and performance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow established safety procedures while operating machinery.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules, including working overtime when needed.
Essential Skills
  • 1–2 years of experience as a CNC machinist or completion of CNC-related education or training.
  • Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC mills and CNC lathes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency with CNC machine setup, including tooling, fixturing, and workpiece alignment.
  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming and G-code for creating and modifying machining programs.
  • Familiarity with Mazatrol, Fanuc, and Haas controls and related CNC equipment.
  • Understanding of machining processes for oil and gas, aerospace, and general industrial manufacturing applications.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of CNC machining experience, including advanced setup and operation, is highly valued.
  • 5+ years of experience combined with strong CNC programming skills is preferred.
  • Experience with both lathe and mill operations in a production environment.
  • Ability to optimize programs and machining processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Comfort working with devices and components used in oil and gas well perforation.
  • Formal CNC schooling, technical training, or apprenticeship in machining or manufacturing.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oklahoma City, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
