Battery Recycle Operator – EV Battery Operations
Tekberry is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Battery Recycling Operator to support EV battery recycling operations with our client, a leader in the automotive and mobility services industry.
Drive production efficiency by meeting required daily production goals and quality and service standards for battery maintenance and recycling.
The individual in this position may be trained to work all stations within the recycling room. All necessary tools and training for operating and troubleshooting equipment will be provided. This position is performed in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse with dust consistently in the air. A full hazmat suit and PAPR (respirator) are required to prevent dust contamination/inhalation and is assigned upon medical evaluation and fit test completion.
Must have steel toe shoes on first day, be able to lift 50 lbs or more with team lift/equipment, and must pass medical eval and be approved for PAPR.
Job Duties:
- May perform cuts on the battery with bandsaw prior to shredding, adding the batteries to the shredder, sorting the shredded material and removal of the shredded material from the equipment.
- Punctual and dependable attendance.
- Demonstrate and model safety excellence commitment by following all safety/health procedures and with the assistance of department management, implement safety updates throughout the department.
- Follow all company policies and production SOPs are adhered to.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication, supervisory and interaction skills required.
- Organizational skills required.
- Ability to pass required medical evaluation and fit test for PAPR (respirator).
- Ability to pass and maintain a clear background and negative drug test.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, preferred.
