Location:
Oklahoma City OK 73129 Duration: 12+ Months
Pay rate: $18.00/hr- $18.50/hr on W2 without benefits Shift: M-F 9:00am-5:30pm (as business needs OT M-F 7:00am-5:30pm and Sat. 5:00am-11:00am)
Position SummaryThe Shipper Receiver is responsible for preparing, packaging, labeling, and loading outbound shipments while ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with company and carrier requirements. This role requires 1 year of shipping experience and the ability to operate material handling equipment, including a sit-down forklift.
Key Responsibilities- Shipment Method Selection — Determines the most appropriate method of shipment based on product type, destination, and carrier requirements.
- Pallet Shrink-Wrapping — Shrink wraps items securely on pallets to ensure stability and prevent damage during transit.
- Container Assembly — Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers as needed.
- Product Packaging — Packages items into containers with care to prevent damage in transit.
- Crate Sealing — Nails covers onto wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
- Labeling & Documentation — Affixes shipping labels, stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Posting Weights & Charges — Records shipment weights and applicable shipping charges accurately.
- Shipment Inspection — Examines outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
- Material Handling — Operates lifts to move, convey, or hoist shipments between shipping/receiving areas, storage, and work areas.
- Sit-Down Forklift Operation — Utilizes a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently.
- Loading Operations — Loads trailers and box trucks with outgoing shipments.
- Work Area Maintenance — Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Safety Compliance — Observes all plant safety rules and reports unsafe conditions immediately.
- 1 year of shipping or warehouse experience
- Ability to operate a sit-down forklift (certification preferred)
- Basic understanding of shipping documentation and labeling
- Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
