Be at the Center of the Business
  • Collaborate daily with Engineering, Quality, Production, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Customers.
  • Influence manufacturing strategy before production ever begins.

Work on Advanced Aerospace Products
  • Support highly engineered aerospace structures, assemblies, propulsion components, flight-control hardware, and mission-critical defense products.
  • Gain visibility across the entire product lifecycle, from contract review and planning through manufacturing and delivery.
  • Participate in risk assessment and mitigation efforts that directly impact program success.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturability, throughput, quality, cost, and process efficiency.
  • Partner closely with manufacturing teams to optimize workflows and eliminate operational bottlenecks.

What You'll Do

As a Planning Engineer, you will transform customer requirements, engineering designs, and contractual obligations into executable manufacturing plans that ensure successful production.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop travelers, routers, work instructions, and manufacturing plans for aerospace machining and assembly operations
  • Review engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and customer requirements to create effective production strategies
  • Define manufacturing sequences, machine utilization, inspection requirements, and workflow execution
  • Collaborate with CNC Programming, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability and process efficiency
  • Determine material requirements, manufacturing methods, and subcontract processing requirements
  • Lead and facilitate risk assessment and risk mitigation activities for new and existing programs
  • Support new product introduction, First Article Inspection (FAI), production launches, and process improvements
  • Coordinate engineering changes, document updates, and release packages across multiple departments
  • Develop rework and corrective action plans for nonconforming product when necessary
  • Serve as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure alignment with design intent and contractual requirements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, delivery, throughput, and cost reduction
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of Planning Engineering experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Experience creating travelers, routers, and manufacturing plans for CNC machining operations
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Experience supporting complex manufacturing processes and cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
