Forklift Operator – Light Industrial
Location:
Oklahoma City, OK 73107 Job Type: Contract Duration: 6 Months
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 6am - 2:30pm
Hours:
40 hours/week
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stack, transport, and organize materials in a fast-paced industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to safety, good hand-eye coordination, and the ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other industrial equipment independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and shipping containers.
- Operate forklifts, manual/powered pallet jacks, and other industrial equipment.
- Transport raw materials and finished products to designated storage areas or production lines.
- Stack, organize, secure, and wrap materials properly before transportation.
- Perform pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment, including brakes, steering, hydraulics, and other safety components.
- Track and organize inventory and materials.
- Maintain clean and hazard-free work areas.
- Follow OSHA requirements, company safety procedures, and all applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Safely handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work independently while maintaining a strong focus on safety and productivity.
Qualifications
- 0–3 years of general work experience required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Previous forklift experience preferred.
- Forklift operator license or certification preferred.
- Ability to safely operate manual and powered pallet jacks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Good hand-eye coordination and depth perception.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
- Ability to work the overnight shift, Monday through Friday.
Required Safety Attire
Workers must wear non-logo clothing:
- Red, black, or gray non-logo T-shirt.
- Non-logo baseball cap, if applicable.
- Proper safety footwear is required.
Safety Shoe Requirements
Safety shoes must include:
- Puncture-resistant/Kevlar sole.
- Class 75 protective toe.
- Slip-resistant soles meeting Mark II LS oily/wet test requirements at 0.35 or higher.
- Minimum 6-inch ankle protection.
