Job Description The Sub Arc/ Mig / Tig / Stick / Spay Arc welding position is responsible for welding pressure containing equipment, fabricate skids, weld base plates, and do general weld repairs to quality specifications.

In this role, you will:

• Work from specification sheets, work orders and verbal directions
• Maintain continual visual inspection of product and process for proper positions, welding, and cutting
• Perform prescribed quality checks
• Inform supervisor or lead of problems, equipment breakdowns, or unusual operating conditions
• Use a variety of hand tools, tape measure, calipers, micrometers, and other necessary measuring devices
• Maintain necessary records
• Move material as necessary in the performance of duties or as directed
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
• Follow safety rules and regulations
• Maintain quality standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required and

Preferred Experience:

• Two year s experience operating a Sub Arc/ Mig / Stick welding machines required
• Ability to communicate with others
• Perform basic math functions to include (add, subtract, multiple, and divide and use fractions and decimals)
• Read micrometers and tape measures
• Must have a mechanical aptitude
• Use of a variety of hand and power tools
• Meticulous attention to detail

Work Environment and

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear, use hands to manipulate with fingers, handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to climb or balance
• Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles, hot (non-weather), and vibrations
• Occasionally working near moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and cold (non-weather)
• Ability to see a close distance (clear vision at 20 inches or less), identify and distinguish colors, observe an area that can be seen up and down or left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, judge distances and spatial relationships, three dimensional vision, adjust focus (adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
• Noise level in the shop may be loud

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred or 1 year of Mig / Tig / Stick experience or training
