Openwork is seeking an experienced Shipping Specialist for a manufacturing operation in Oklahoma City. This is a hands‑on opportunity for someone with strong shipping, forklift, material‑handling, and crate‑building experience who takes pride in preparing products safely and accurately for shipment.
This role combines traditional shipping responsibilities with wood crate construction, packaging, inventory handling, and industrial material movement.

Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

May work as late as 4:30 PM when needed

- Prepare, package, and stage finished products and industrial components for shipment.
- Build and assemble wooden shipping crates for products and equipment.
- Measure and cut materials accurately for crate construction.
- Use forklifts, hand trucks, and material-handling equipment to move products safely.
- Retrieve inventory and materials based on work orders.
- Package, secure, and crate heavy industrial components for transportation.
- Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and Bills of Lading (BOLs).
- Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing lists, and shipping documents.
- Inspect outgoing freight for damage and order accuracy.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory updates.
- Report inventory or shipping discrepancies to management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
- Follow company safety, quality, and shipping procedures.
- 1–2+ years of shipping, warehouse, material-handling, or related experience.
- Experience building wooden crates, wood framing, or carpentry required.
- Forklift operating experience required.
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
- Experience preparing shipping documents, packing slips, or BOLs is a plus.
- Inventory and ERP system experience is a plus.
- Overhead crane experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and order accuracy.
- Reliable and consistent attendance.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility to work overtime or extended hours based on business needs.
- Non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
- Industrial noise levels requiring participation in a hearing conservation program.
- Ability to safely lift 25–50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, and remain active throughout the shift.
- Hands‑on work with industrial materials, shipping crates, forklifts, and equipment.
- Must be flexible to work overtime based on business needs.
- $18.00–$19.00 per hour.
