Campus Staff Minister – Washington University in St. Louis (Graduate & Faculty Ministry)

Work Location:

Missouri – Full‑time position (40 hours per week). Option for part‑time and volunteer roles.

ESSENTIAL COMMITMENTS / RESPONSIBILITIES

Spiritual Growth

  • Pursue a vibrant relationship with the triune God through Scripture, prayer, and worship, individually and in community.
  • Develop self‑leadership by growing in self‑awareness, self‑management, relational integrity, and resiliency.
  • Embrace scriptural standards for behavior and attitudes.

Campus Leadership

  • Visionary Guide – communicate and model Inter Varsity’s vision; create a culture of humble dependence on God; model core values; lead students and faculty through Scripture, prayer, teaching, and discipleship; set annual goals; develop and execute plans; mobilize students and faculty to engage their networks and start new missional communities.
  • Supervise ministry interns and campus ministry interns as delegated under the direction of the Area Director.

Missional Developer

  • Invite, develop, and equip diverse groups of students and faculty to encounter and follow Jesus, advance the mission, and proclaim the gospel.
  • Equip students and faculty to hear the Word, respond actively, and develop ministry skills; invite, coach, and equip them to become effective participants and leaders.

Organizational Collaboration

  • Partner with national, regional, and local Inter Varsity staff and volunteers; contribute to collaborative meetings; submit graduating student forms; use national ministry resources; complete reporting and review requirements.

Ministry Partnership Development

  • Develop a team of partners—churches, alumni, and community members—to resource the ministry financially, in prayer, or volunteer service.
  • Raise 100% of the financial budget assigned by the supervisor.
  • Communicate regularly with ministry partners; comply with partnership policies.
  • Identify and invest in advocates to build networks of volunteers and donors.
QUALIFICATIONS (Common to All Levels)
  • Annual affirmation of Inter Varsity’s Statement of Agreement, Code of Conduct, Human Sexuality Theological Paper, and Women in Ministry Statement of Affiliation.
  • Bachelor’s degree required for a four‑year campus;
    Associate’s degree for a two‑year campus or community college.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to minister to diverse ethnic communities and faculty.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with word processing, presentation, email, and spreadsheet software.
WORK ENVIRONMENT /

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The CSM leads ministry in a college campus environment and may or may not have a designated office space. The CSM is required to travel on‑ and off‑campus, including student ministry conferences and ministry partnership meetings. The CSM regularly communicates with others and frequently uses standard office equipment.

PAY & BENEFITS

Pay Range: $44,016.00–$58,680.00 per year (full‑time, 40hrs/wk). Compensation varies with fundraising success.
