Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a pediatrics float pool night shift role requiring an active OK or compact RN license and PALS certification.
Responsibilities- Work in the pediatric float pool of a hospital
- Provide care for pediatric patients with a range of health conditions from simple to complex
- Night shift position with weekend and holiday work requirements
- Expected to float to different pediatric units as needed
- Care for an assigned group of pediatric patients and document responses to treatment
- Monitor physiological status and administer prescribed medications, IVs, and blood products
- Assist with examinations and minor procedures as needed
- Interact with patients and families to share care plans and educate on hospital procedures and discharge instructions
- Delegate tasks to support staff according to patient care needs
- Holiday coverage is required as part of the core schedule
- Not open to local applicants within 50 miles of the facility
- Active Oklahoma or multistate compact RN license required
- Minimum of one year RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN or higher preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association required
- Must have strong skills in organizing, planning, coordinating and evaluating nursing services
- Must maintain effective verbal and written communication
- Some computer competency required
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
