Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring at least 2 years of MS/Tele experience and proficiency with telemetry monitoring, pacemakers, and IV insulin protocols.
Responsibilities- Day shift position, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Telemetry monitoring including remote monitoring, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Experience with pacemakers (temporary and permanent), IV insulin protocols, and Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI) required
- Additional clinical skills include heparin protocols, PCA management, central line and PICC line care, blood product administration, feeding tube care, pre/post hemodialysis management, and surgical drain management
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities within a 75-mile radius
- Charts using Epic EMR
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
- Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days for the duration of the assignment — no holiday or blackout date RTO requests will be accepted
- Block scheduling requests are not accommodated
- No holiday RTO requests will be accepted
- Active OK RN license or Compact RN license — no pending licenses accepted, must be currently in hand
- Certifications required prior to start: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and EKG/Telemetry course completion
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring, pacemaker management, IV insulin protocols, and CBI
- Valid driver's license or state-issued
- Utility bill in the traveler's name with a matching address dated within the last 3 months required for consideration
- 2 supervisory references required for consideration
- Copies of all certifications required for consideration
