Oncology Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to support patient care services in a fast-paced hospital environment. The Oncology RN will provide specialized nursing care to patients diagnosed with cancer across multiple settings, including inpatient units, outpatient infusion centers, emergency department, and surgical areas.

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards.
• Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy per Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) guidelines.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments.
• Monitor and record changes in physician orders and patient conditions.
• Assist physicians with examinations, minor diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
• Obtain and monitor physiological data; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and blood products as prescribed.
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions.
• Communicate and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions.
• Make referrals as appropriate for continued patient care.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a board-approved program.

• Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or active multistate compact RN license (eNLC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association.
• Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration – Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification – Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
• Step Down and Oncology experience required.

• Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, organize, and evaluate nursing services.
• Proficiency in chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships.
• Cultural and language responsiveness.
• Basic computer proficiency.
