Open to UCO Nursing Students Graduating December 2026 General Description
Nursing Student Intern position is designed specifically for senior year nursing students. Under supervision of the RN and OU College of Nursing faculty, the Nursing Student Intern will work with a preceptor to complete the required critical care clinical hours and routine tasks in patient care.
Essential ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.
- Under supervision of the RN and in collaboration with the patient and family, systematically and continually monitors the patient's health status and implements the plan of care and performs tasks as defined by the RN.
- Performs all treatments and procedures as defined by the skills competency checklist.
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Education & ExperienceCurrently enrolled as a senior nursing student in an accredited college of nursing.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) RequiredCurrent Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively, and follow written and oral instructions; and to maintain effective working relations with others.
