Locum Jobs Online  is working with Wellhart, LLC to find a qualified Peds - Critical Care NP in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73104!

Our client in Oklahoma is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join their team starting Sep 7, 2026, for an ongoing locum tenens assignment. This flexible role involves 7-10 shifts per month, from 5 pm to 6:30 am, providing comprehensive care in a dual outpatient and/or inpatient setting. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform accurate and complete history and physical assessments, ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic studies.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and adjust patient care plans, ensuring timely and concise electronic medical record documentation.
  • Provide compassionate, patient and family-centered care throughout the lifespan, considering cost-effectiveness and utilizing evidence-based medicine.
  • Facilitate consistent and coordinated care, fostering clear communication and interdisciplinary collaboration across the healthcare team.
  • Participate in research opportunities, educational activities for students and professionals, and organizational meetings or quality initiatives.
  • Counsel and educate patients and families, advocating on their behalf within the healthcare system.
  • Develop, evaluate, and implement standards of care, policies, and protocols within the specialty area.

Additional Information

  • Required Board

    Certifications:

    Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
  • Minimum of three years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in a designated specialty.
  • Strong knowledge of medical conditions, etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, and epidemiology.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in managing acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Proficiency in procedural skills relevant to the practice area.
  • Advanced medical/nursing clinical knowledge, strong communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and professionalism.
  • Highest level of accountability for professional practice.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacologic agents and other treatment modalities, including indications and contraindications.
  • Ability to manage general medical and surgical conditions.
  • Adherence to ethical principles regarding patient confidentiality, informed consent, and adverse outcomes.
