Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery

Fusion Medical Staffing‑Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

13‑week travel assignment – 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. Labor and Delivery RN with experience in obstetric settings.

• One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification

• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
• STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC)
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence‑based protocols
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing

• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
• Physical abilities – able to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
• Interpersonal skills – ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel and maintain a positive attitude
• Technical/motor skills – fine manipulation, push/pull, and movement during procedures or equipment use
• Mental requirements – ability to handle frequent public contact and work under pressure with occasional supervision
