ResponsibilitiesOklahoma Heart Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our leadership team as a Nurse Manager for the Day Patient Department. This role is ideal for an RN leader with experience in pre-operative (Pre-Op), post-anesthesia care (PACU), ambulatory surgery, same-day surgery, outpatient procedures, cardiac services, Cath Lab, or procedural nursing.
The Nurse Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Day Patient Department while ensuring exceptional patient care, regulatory compliance, staff engagement, and operational excellence. This position combines clinical leadership and hands‑on nursing care, with approximately 75% of time spent providing direct patient care in pre‑procedure and post‑procedure settings.
Lead Clinical Operations- Manage the daily operations of the Day Patient Department, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient‑centered care.
- Supervise and mentor Registered Nurses and clinical staff while promoting accountability, collaboration, and professional development.
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to support optimal patient flow and quality outcomes.
- Partner with physicians, Cath Lab leadership, and hospital executives to improve departmental performance and patient satisfaction.
- Provide direct nursing care for patients undergoing elective and emergency cardiovascular and outpatient procedures.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments in Pre-Op, Perioperative, and Post-Procedure recovery settings
. - Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and evidence‑based practice.
- Educate patients and families on procedures, discharge instructions, and recovery expectations.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, physician satisfaction, and employee engagement.
- Promote infection prevention, medication safety, and adherence to universal precautions.
- Collaborate with Pharmacy and interdisciplinary teams to minimize medication errors and improve patient safety.
- Coach and mentor nursing staff through education, cross‑training, and performance development.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in multidisciplinary committees and organizational initiatives that support excellence in cardiovascular care.
- Oversee inventory management and ensure the availability of supplies and equipment needed for patient care.
- Maintain competency and operational oversight of specialized cardiovascular equipment, including:
- Hemodynamic monitoring systems
- Cardiac monitoring equipment
- Pacemakers and defibrillators
- Intra‑aortic balloon pumps (IABP)
- Blood analysis equipment
- Coordinate with vendors and hospital departments to maximize efficiency while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
