The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) registered nurse administers medications, checks vital signs, and alerts physicians to significant changes in patient condition. The RN serves as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families, ensuring patient welfare and effective communication.

• Administer care to patients following open‑heart surgery.
• Assist with the treatment and care of heart transplant patients.
• Educate patients’ families on ongoing care needs.
