American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical/Transplant unit specializing in post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant care, with stepdown/PCU experience required and night shift availability.
Details- Hospital-based surgical/transplant unit (4W) providing care for post-surgical and pre-transplant patients
- Patient population includes kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant recipients as well as patients undergoing pre-transplant evaluation during inpatient stay
- Mixed med/surg and stepdown (PCU) floor — nurses may work either acuity level depending on staffing needs
- Patients require close monitoring for infection, organ rejection, and timely medication administration
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- 13-week contract
- Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC compact license) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; all certifications must be AHA-issued
- Minimum 1 year of acute care surgical floor (med/surg) experience required
- Stepdown/PCU experience required
- ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
- Preceptor and charge nurse experience preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- OR (operating room) experience alone does not meet the requirements for this position
- Full date of birth required for consideration
- Responsibilities include managing assigned patients, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, regulating IV infusions and blood products, and coordinating with physicians and support staff
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Previously placed travelers must have a 6‑month separation after 26 cumulative weeks worked before being eligible for a new contract at this facility
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) is strictly enforced — non‑compliant travelers risk contract cancellation
- Background check and drug screen results typically take at least 2 weeks; candidates should report to the lab for drug screening promptly upon accepting an offer
