Registered Nurse (RN), Behavioral Health
Job Type: PRN varied shifts
As an RN in the Behavioral Health Department, you will provide patient-centered care, coordinate interventions, and support the department’s clinical, operational, and administrative excellence.
Essential Functions- Assess patients and plan care within set time frames, documenting findings per policies.
- Oversee and supervise the shift.
- Demonstrate leadership through tasks such as delegating to groups, close observation, meal supervision, etc.
- Ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed, delivering exemplary patient care.
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately, including notifying the physician.
- Administer medications in accordance with hospital policy.
- Interact with patients using empathy, dignity, and respect.
- Deliver quality nursing care aligning with treatment plan goals and hospital procedures.
- Assist or perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients.
- Reports to:
Nurse Manager or Chief Nursing Officer. FLSA: none exempt. - Preferred:
Prior experience in a psychiatric or chemical dependency setting, dual diagnosis, geriatric patients, family involvement, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations.

- $Shift differential
- Associate’s degree in nursing.
- Current RN license as required by state regulations.
- 1‑year experience in a psychiatric health care facility preferred.
- CPR certification required within 30 days of employment.
- De‑escalation certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, and calmness under stress.
