As a Pre-Op/PACU RN
, you will play a critical role in ensuring a smooth and safe surgical experience for our patients. Your expertise will help provide the highest level of care
, from preparing patients for surgery to monitoring recovery in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Prepare patients for surgery according to hospital policies & procedures.
- Assess and document patient history, vitals, and medication administration.
- Monitor patients for anesthesia interactions, side effects, and expected outcomes.
- Quickly and efficiently respond to emergency situations using ACLS, PALS, and hospital protocols.
- Maintain accurate & up-to-date documentation in Cerner.
- Ensure all admission requirements are met before surgery.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols to maintain a secure environment.
- Provide compassionate patient & family education regarding the surgical process.
Licensure & Certification:
- Active Oklahoma RN License (or eligibility)
- BLS Certification (within 30 days of hire)
- ACLS/PALS Certification (training provided if needed)
Skills & Experience:
- Strong nursing judgment – Ability to make quick, informed decisions.
- Excellent communication skills – Verbal & written proficiency.
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload in a fast-paced environment.
