Job Title: RN Surgical Specialty - FS
Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73104
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift/Schedule: Nights, 3x12s, 36 hours/week

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical and stepdown patients with conditions ranging from simple to complex.
• Care for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients as well as pre-transplant patients undergoing evaluation.
• Monitor patients for infection, transplant rejection, and timely medication administration.
• Assess assigned patients and document responses to nursing interventions and treatments.
• Monitor physiological status and intervene as needed.
• Administer medications, IV infusions, and blood products.
• Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Coordinate patient care and communicate with interdisciplinary team members.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff.
• Float between Medical-Surgical and Stepdown assignments based on unit needs and patient acuity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience.
• Must have acute care Surgical Floor experience.
• Will NOT accept Operating Room (OR) candidates.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
• Current Oklahoma RN License or Multistate Compact RN License (eNLC).
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of professional nursing practices, patient assessment, and nursing procedures.
• Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
• Ability to work with diverse patient populations.

Preferences:

• ENT experience.
• Transplant nursing experience.
• Stepdown/PCU experience.
• Experience caring for transplant patients.
• Preceptor experience.
• Charge Nurse experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
