Travel RN - Med​/Surg Float Pool

Overview

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medicine Specialty Float Pool position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least one year of Med/Surg or Step-Down experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Med/Surg and Step-Down experience required
• Associate s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency required

• Work setting is an acute care hospital on a 3rd Floor Overflow/Med-Surg unit
• Patient population includes a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• May be floated to any area of the hospital
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• 13-week contract
• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient caseload, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions
• Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Communicates care plans and discharge instructions to patients and families
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Workers who have previously completed a contract at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before beginning a new contract
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be completed promptly — the facility does not allow delayed start dates due to non-compliance
