Job Description

We are looking for a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

• Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable results.
• Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician’s standing orders and transporting donors to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues, including guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility.
• Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community.

• High‑school diploma or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• State licensure or certification (LPN or LVN) in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
