Role

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides comprehensive obstetric care, including assessments, treatments, and collaboration with healthcare teams during labor, delivery, and postpartum.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate procedures to patients and families
  • Administer medications in a timely and safe manner
  • Prepare necessary equipment and supplies for labor and delivery
  • Assist clinicians in deliveries while ensuring patient comfort and safety
  • Provide postpartum and newborn care, including initial assessments and stabilization
  • Educate families about newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team
  • Document all care activities accurately and thoroughly
  • Interpret fetal monitoring and provide appropriate clinical interventions
  • Assist in procedures as needed while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards
Qualifications & Skills
  • At least one year of recent Labor & Delivery experience
  • Valid Registered Nurse license
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications; preference for fetal monitoring, STABLE, and ACLS certifications
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Strong technical knowledge related to obstetric nursing practices
