American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring at least 1 year of experience and an OK or compact RN license.
Details- Hospital-based Med/Surg and Step-down unit assignment on the 3rd Floor Overflow
- Care for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- May be floated to any area of the hospital
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Med/Surg and Step-down experience required
- Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document responses to nursing interventions and treatments
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
- Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Returning workers may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
- Compliance documentation, including background checks and drug screening, must begin immediately due to strict facility deadlines
