American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Pediatric Medical unit position requiring Level I trauma experience and pediatric respiratory, GI, trach, and home ventilator care experience.
Details- Hospital-based Pediatric Medical unit caring for patients from newborn to 18 years of age
- Wide-ranging patient population without a specific focus, including respiratory and GI cases
- Cares for patients with tracheostomies and home ventilators
- Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
- 13-week assignment length
- Active RN license issued by Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Up to 1 year of Level I trauma experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Experience caring for pediatric patients with tracheostomies and home ventilators required
- Certifications must be from the American Heart Association only
- Provides nursing care to an assigned group of pediatric patients ranging from simple to complex health issues
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and monitors changes in physician orders
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Communicates care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Compliance documentation and onboarding requirements must begin immediately upon offer, as this facility strictly enforces compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts
- Returning employees may extend a contract only once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
