American Traveler is hiring a RN for an Ortho/Trauma Unit night shift position requiring 1 year of experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license.

• Hospital-based Ortho/Trauma Unit setting
• Cares for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• SD and MS certifications required for this unit
• Charge experience highly preferred

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required, BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required

• Responsible for an assigned group of patients, including documentation of nursing interventions and physician order changes
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Monitors physiological data, observes patient status, and intervenes as needed
• Administers prescribed medications and manages IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may be subject to a required 6-month separation before reapplying if prior assignment reached the 26-week extension limit
