Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC/Stepdown night shift position requiring 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience and current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details
  • Work in the IMC/Medical-Surgical stepdown unit specializing in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery
  • Unit admits MS and IMC level patients including cardiothoracic surgery pre/post-op, Cath Lab procedures, CHF exacerbation, dysrhythmias, pacemaker management, and hemo/pneumothorax cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:4, based on a safe staffing acuity matrix
  • 16 total staffed beds with an average daily census of 16
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Floating required to other units and sister facilities within a 75-mile radius as needed based on facility needs
  • No block scheduling accommodations available
Requirements
  • Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • EKG course/telemetry test completion required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • IMC/MS stepdown experience with cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery patient populations required
  • 1:4-5 patient ratio experience required
  • Prior charge nurse experience preferred
  • Current and valid driver's license or state-issued
  • Utility bill in candidate's name with matching address within the last three months required
  • Two supervisory references required
  • Copies of certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide nursing care to cardiac telemetry and IMC/stepdown patients including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac drip titration, and post cardiac cath/surgery care
  • Skills utilized may include central line care, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP management, arterial blood gas interpretation, and wound care
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, though prior travel experience is not required
  • Local candidates are not accepted; permanent address must be greater than 75 miles from the facility
  • Maximum RTO of 5 days per 13-week assignment, with no holiday RTO accepted
  • Former INTEGRIS employees must have a minimum 1-year separation from the health system to be eligible
  • Any gaps of 3 months or more in work history must include an explanation
