Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of acute care ER experience and NIHSS/ESI certification in a high-acuity, multi-specialty trauma center.

Details
  • Work in a fast-paced, high-acuity Emergency Department within a hospital setting
  • Department supports a transplant center, burn center, LVAD, total heart, PICU, NICU, L&D, comprehensive stroke center, ECMO cannulation in ED, and chest pain center
  • See approximately 175-200 patients per day
  • 30-bed ER unit
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour rotation, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Rotating on-call and rotating weekend call required
  • Floating required to sister facilities within a 75-mile radius, if needed
  • Epic charting system experience preferred
  • No block scheduling accommodations available
Requirements
  • Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand, no pending state licenses accepted
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and ESI
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience in an acute care setting required, 3 years preferred
  • High level of knowledge in caring for acute patients required
  • Level I and Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skills in psychiatric care, IV therapy, pediatrics, respiratory management, neurological care, and cardiac monitoring preferred
  • Experience in shock/trauma care including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations preferred
  • Must not have prior travel experience with this facility (seasoned RN, first-time travelers accepted)
  • Valid driver's license or state-issued
  • Utility bill in traveler's name with matching address dated within the last three months required
  • Two supervisory references required
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care to a diverse and highly acute patient population including trauma, cardiac, neurological, pediatric, and psychiatric cases
  • Facility is a Level II Trauma Center, STEMI Certified, and Stroke Certified
  • Perform triage and utilize isolation precautions/PPE protocols
  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
  • Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
  • Maximum RTO of 5 days per 13-week assignment, with no holiday RTO permitted
  • Previous facility employees must have at least 1 year of separation before being eligible for travel assignment consideration
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
