American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Specialty Step Down unit requiring stepdown/high acuity and tracheostomy care experience.

• Work in the Med Specialty Step Down unit of a hospital
• Cares for high acuity stepdown patients requiring tracheostomy care
• Uses Epic EMR
• Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 36 hours per week

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact/eNLC) currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications issued by AHA
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required, BSN preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Stepdown/high acuity experience required
• Tracheostomy care experience required
• ICU experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents nursing interventions and treatment responses
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administers medications and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
• Compliance documentation must begin immediately upon offer, as start dates will not be pushed
• Workers may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks unless otherwise agreed, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
