Travel RN - Neuro ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Transplant ICU position requiring Level I trauma experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license.

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Level I trauma center experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required, BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Work in the Neuro Transplant ICU of a hospital setting
• Care for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• 13-week assignment length
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and delivers competent nursing care
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Monitors physiological data and intervenes as necessary based on patient condition
• Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Refers patient care needs to appropriate personnel and delegates tasks to support staff
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Compliance documentation (background checks, drug screens, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon offer, as start dates cannot be pushed
• Candidates must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer due to strict compliance deadlines
