American Traveler is hiring a Medical ICU RN for a night-shift travel contract requiring trauma experience, OK or compact RN licensure, and ACLS certification.
Details- Provides nursing care in the Medical ICU of a hospital setting
- Cares for patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
- Trauma experience and travel required
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of ICU patients
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and monitors physician orders
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Administers medications and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
- Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
- Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines for onboarding, background checks, and drug screening
- Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer due to compliance requirements
- Returning travelers may extend only once for a total of 26 weeks, requiring a 6-month separation before reapplying
