Licensed Practical Nurse
Positions in this job family involve performing technical direct and indirect nursing care in a correctional facility medical clinic. Responsibilities include taking temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, among other technical nursing tasks.
Typical functions include performing nursing procedures or specialized functions based on knowledge, skills, and licensure. Participating in the evaluation of responses to interventions. Assisting in assessing, reporting, and recording health status of patients in various settings. Contributing to the development and implementation of appropriate aspects of a plan of care. Administering medications as ordered. Reporting relevant patient information to the supervisor or appropriate health team member.
Level I:
This is the entry-level position where employees perform routine tasks under close professional supervision to build their nursing care skills.
Level II:
This is the career level where employees perform a full range of nursing assignments as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Responsibilities include providing guidance and training to others on routine nursing tasks.
